For a construction company retreat, we designed a custom experience based on the phases of a real construction project. But instead of simulating construction work literally, the game translated each phase into playful challenges that captured the thinking behind the work rather than the technical expertise.
Teams progressed through five phases:
- Business Development
- Design & Preconstruction
- Project Start Up
- The Build
- Project Close Out
Each phase introduced challenges reflecting the mindset and collaboration required in that stage of a project.
